MOVE INDY’S DANVILLE GUIDE
Danville has the small-town feel we all love, while also being rich with history and amenities.
While development continues all over Danville, there are parts of the town that seem to be frozen in time. And we think that’s a good thing! The Courthouse Square at the center of town hosts the Royal Theater, Danville Dips (the locally owned ice cream shop), and Frank's Place (the traditional Italian eatery and bar). |
The Royal Theater takes you back to a time with one-room movie houses.
It shows one movie a night (on select nights) for $5 a ticket…we can almost smell the popcorn just thinking about it! You can’t beat the price or the nostalgic feeling this historic theater will bring back! |
Check out Frank’s Place for some great traditional Italian food.
Established in 1999, it has been family owned and operated from the beginning. They have a robust menu and offer traditional Italian favorites with a new style. The restaurant has been passed down the family through generations, and you can taste and feel the authentic Italian roots in the food & atmosphere at Frank’s! This is a must-visit for all lovers of Italian cuisine! |
And no trip to the Square is complete without a little ice cream!
Check out Danville Dips for some quality ice cream in a historic atmosphere with modern amenities! Enjoy a Saturday night with friends, family and ice cream! Danville Dips provides the respite from your busy life - take a few moments to enjoy some time with your loved ones. Check out their website, where you can even order online and purchase gift cards! |
North of the square you will find the Mayberry Cafe, which embodies the small town Americana feel. The name says it all!
Owned and operated since 1989 by Christine and Brad Born, the Mayberry Cafe is filled with memorabilia collected by Brad about his favorite television program, The Andy Griffith Show. With a menu inspired by Aunt Bee’s home cooking, they are open for lunch and dinner offering up traditional home cooking. Don’t forget to check out Barney’s patrol car out front! |
There are many great businesses that call Danville home. Many of these businesses have been here for generations.
One such example is Midland Post Frame Buildings, who has served Danville and Hendricks County for 75 years. Midland has been building post frame builds for all sorts of applications, such as residential, commercial, churches, horse barns, and farms. All buildings are custom built and tailored to meet the needs of each customer. Move Indy is proud and honored to be neighbors with Midland! |
The Indiana Lyons, an American Basketball Association (ABA) team, also calls Danville home.
The league itself consists of nearly 200 teams across North America and Japan. They just celebrated their 22-23 ABA Co-Championship this past weekend. They play their home games at Bosstick Gym (also known as the Lyons Den) at 49 N Wayne St. here in Danville. Their directive is to provide low-cost, high-octane interactive family-friendly experience at their games. |
And last (but certainly not least!), we would be remiss if we talked about Danville without mentioning Beasley’s Orchard!
Located on the east side of Danville, just north of Rockville Rd on East Main Street, it is a gem in the Danville community! Beasley’s Orchard is a 165 acre farm that produces a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, including apples, strawberries, sweet corn, pumpkins, squash, and many, many more! The orchard has been run by 3 generations of the Beasley family. It is the true embodiment of a small, family-owned business. Need a fun afternoon activity for the family? Try picking your own apples, strawberries or pumpkins! Once you have your produce, don’t forget to check out the apple cider or any of their various other market products! The kids will also enjoy a hay ride or corn maze in the fall! Be sure to check out the many activities happening all year long at Beasley’s Orchard! |
